500 Startups, prominent global seed accelerator, has just invested in Dropmysite, the most comprehensive website, email and database backup solution in the cloud.
This investment will see Silicon Valley based 500 startups take a stake in Dropmysite’s future and further validates their goal of backing up the Internet.
“Very few people think about backing up their e-mail, voicemail, or SMS until it’s too late, and most carriers and ISP’s can’t help you if they lose your data. Dropmysite, however, solves that problem and allows any SMB to backup their e-mail or whatever else they need simply and cost-efficiently. It’s a great cloud-based business that has the potential to go global”, says George Kellerman, Venture Partner of 500 Startups.
In this deal, 500 startups made an investment within their usual quantum of $25K-$250K USD on Dropmysite, which currently does a quarter of a billion email backup and websites a day for nearly a million users. Having this investment will benefit Dropmysite by providing more cash to continue scaling up operations.
“This partnership is yet another an endorsement of our vision of keeping all data safe in the cloud,” says John Fearon, CEO and founder of Dropmysite. “We are excited to be part of this organization and we look forward to working closely with George (Kellerman) in the future.”
Dropmysite will be among only a handful of Singaporean companies to join the 500 Strong, after Payroll Hero and Viki. Due to its unique offering to backup data and expand rapidly, Dropmysite is added to the esteemed brotherhood of companies like TaskRabbit, Twilio, Wildfire and Sendgrid.
500 startups will also recommend Dropmysite’s enterprise email backup solution, Dropmyemail Business, to the network worldwide. With advanced email backup management, email usage reports / audits, military-grade security and unlimited storage, Dropmyemail Business is perfect for all their small, medium or large enterprise email backup needs.
Lastly, Dropmysite will have access to all the mentors available to 500 startups. Currently, there are over 100 mentors with expertise ranging from Analytics to User Experience and hailing from companies like Facebook and Youtube. This will be a chance for Dropmysite to learn their secrets to success and open doors for future collaborations.
With a presence in every major region in the world, eventually, Dropmysite will be seen and used globally. Being part of 500 Startups is a major step forward in the grand scheme of Dropmysite to eventually back up the Internet.
