Fabrik’s mission is very simple; to create the best, cheapest portfolio platform for creatives. They help creatives (both fresh and experienced) find a way to get their work out to the world and get noticed – providing a solid foundation on which to build their digital presence. Fabrik completely separates project content from all site styling and technology, enabling creatives to easily add media, blog and share their work on their own portfolio website with no technical requirement at all. Intelligently-designed themes and content sampling algorithms understand and adapt to project content. One-click theme and layout choices, straightforward configurations and customization mean each Fabrik portfolio becomes truly one of a kind. Update and personalise your creative portfolio quicker and easier than ever before by connecting to your existing creative services or uploading your work. Fabrik’s clever portfolio technology adapts to your work so it shines, on any device.
Fabrik started life in 2011 as a simple bunch of tools to produce portfolio websites for friends. The product went through several beta stages before becoming an actual product that people could use. Due to it’s initial customer base (and two of it’s founders working in film) the product’s core audience is, and remains, filmmakers. Development to this point has been bootstrapped and influenced through a bespoke service building highly-tailored themes for best-of-breed film and tv production companies on the Fabrik platform. In 2014, with a new, fully-focussed team, the product was evolved towards absolute simplicity as a user experience, and is now quickly moving into the development of intelligent systems and algorithms that work in perfect harmony with user content.
Ben Foster founded the Fabrik in 2011 and he is supported by Tim Jarvis & Phil Jenkins.Ben is a Software Engineer with 10+ years in the tech industry. Tim is a Partner and Creative Director at Profission 10+ years, focusing on digital strategy for brands and entrepreneurs in sport, finance and lifestyle sectors.Phil is a Software Engineer with 7+ years experience working with web technologies.
Fabrik is a Saas product with monthly and annual subscription plans. They have a personal plan that suits most creatives, it costs £5.75 / $8.90 per month. They’ll soon have a professional plan too for users who have a lot of projects, and for small creative studios or production companies. They’re in the process of putting their material together to go out and seek their first funding round to give them runway to extend the functionality of Fabrik by radically enhancing side-loading from other services and to further expand the intelligence of their platform in making decisions for its users on how to present their content.
