Plum Deluxe is the web’s premier lifestyle magazine, helping you find the brighter side of everyday life. Plum Deluxe represents the new American ‘luxury’ consumer. Luxury is no longer about how much is costs, but how it makes you feel. Plum Deluxe looks to redefine “luxury” by moving away from the concept of “indulgence” or “guilty pleasures.” Instead, the company’s philosophy is based on the “simple pleasures” which everyone can enjoy, whether that’s a nice glass of wine with dinner, or leaving one’s comfort zone to take a class and learn something new over the weekend.
Plum Deluxe was founded in 2007 at Portland, Oregon, with an original focus on travel. Tired of his technology career, Andy Hayes, decided to venture out into something new in the world of publishing. Andy Hayes, founder and chief creative producer, comes from a 15-year career in the software industry, and was recently named one of the top 5 most influential online tourism professionals. Carrie Keplinger and Margo Millure, our editorial team members, both come from a publishing background, each having worked in multiple magazines and PR roles. Carey Ruhl is also part of the team and serves as our operations concierge, helping to make sure everything gets done!
Plum Deluxe works primarily on a sponsorship basis, working with distinctive brands on branded content and social media campaigns. The company is also supported by a few select affiliate partners, syndication fees, and will roll out additional eCommerce products and services in the coming months. Plum Deluxe aims to hit a million subscribers in the next 2 years.
Independently-owned and operated-with-love, Plum Deluxe is the web’s undisputed expert in life’s little luxuries. Like many magazines and online publications, the venture’s regular focus areas are travel, food, wine, etc. Some of the most popular themes on the website are – Conscious Consumerism, The Internet of Lost Things, The Gig Economy, Childlessness by Choice. Feel free to check them out.
