The student community, irrespective of degree of education, is ideally considered to be in pursuit of knowledge constantly. With the internet enabling a level playing field for all, this growing need for knowledge and resource sharing among the student has led to the growth a number of online communities to enable the same. One such initiative for this noble cause is the website iputech.com. Founded in 2008 by 2 BCA students, Himanshu Thakur and Ishan Jain of the Maharaja Surajmal Institute, Indraprashta University, Delhi, the online community was intended initially for technical students only. However as its popularity and user base grew, Thakur and Jain decided to convert it to a general on line community.
The information available on their website will always be free as this has been sourced from various users themselves. The website is predominantly community driven and users are free to provide ideas for its development. The popularity of this on line community was so widespread that the founding members did not require investing in strategic marketing initiatives. While they publicize their services mainly through social media, they say the best publicity has been through word of mouth alone. While information is available aplenty on the world wide web, this website endeavors to ensure that the content is trustworthy and strict moderation of content is done by them.
This initiative is currently limited to the colleges which fall under the Indraprashta University. It strives to bring colleges under the IP university together on a friendly platform and attempts to eliminate communication gaps. While this is not the objective of the main article, it would be interesting to point out the need for a better communication system within the educational sector of our country. This student driven initiative goes to show how much more can be done to ensure the same, We hope that this initiative grows to include a larger audience across the country and wish the team good luck for their future!
