Just when we thought our twitter feed was getting cluttered with all the tweets and updates, in came to our rescue this new tool called Brook. Brook is a social media tool that emails users daily with the top five tweets from the Twitter users they select. It’s designed to cut through the clutter while making sure users don’t miss out on important updates from friends, co-workers, publications, competitors, and more
A “set it and forget it” resource, Brook, unlike other social media tools does not focus on constant connectivity, monitoring and pesky notifications throughout the day. You simply select who you want to keep tabs on, and Brook does the rest. Another brilliant feature this web tool provides is ‘Category’. You can categorize the ones you’re following under different tags as you wish. This feature definitely comes in handy when you can’t keep a tab on the entire twitter newsfeed. Finally, at the end of the day, Brook sends you an email with the best tweets from each person.
Brook was founded in December 2012 as an internal solution to managing and keeping up with people on Twitter at their parent company, AdVentur.es. Mark Hodges, the 21-year-old CEO, came up with this idea to make twitter more productive. Before he took on Brook, he was the Director of Web Development at Influence & Co, a professional branding firm based in Columbia, Mo.
“We launched Brook as an internal solution to this problem, but it quickly caught on outside the office and we took it public”, says Mark
Mark further adds, “We would like Brook to become a well-known tool that people depend on for their social media updates.”
Brook is currently operating with funding from AdVentur.es and its just getting started. The team plans to add few more premium features in sometime. The company believes that Brook might change in form and function overtime, but its core value of time-saving and keeping tabs on people who matter to you will remain the same.
