Wishary is a unique platform which enables its community of fashion savvy users to help each other discover fashion products they love but don’t know where to find. Its unique image discovery technology automatically sends recommendations to users from around the web’s e-commerce sites to help them curate a look or a buy a product they love. Backed by a fashion blog with a mix of user generated content and Wishary’s fashion editorial team from around the country it is a one stop online fashion destination.
Wishary was started by four batch mates from CEIBS, Shanghai as product discovery and retail startup in Korea. Hemanth one of the four founding members tested the product in India mid last year and received a positive response. The product was built over a period of the next three months and launched in April 2015. They have recently launched the first version of the Android mobile App with image search.While the Indian fashion eCommerce industry has grown leaps and bounds Hemanth saw a gap that needed addressing. The industry was completely discount driven and marketing budgets defined what brands were being consumed by the customer. This generation of young Indian however is not afraid of expressing their individuality and Wishary seeks to enable this particular group choose what is right for them rather treating fashion as a commodity market.

While other platforms are focusing on a one dimensional aspect of the e-commerce enabler market such as social shopping, filtered/text search or product discovery Wishary aims to provide a holistic fashion experience. A Wishary user is able to discover fashion products across brands and is offered style advice as to how she could use it. a. E.g. An individual might be on the lookout for footwear and comes across a pair of stilettos she likes. She simply has to click a picture of the pair and we will give her along with product recommendations from our e-commerce partner sites, style tips as to how she can wear it in a formal setting or on a date. She can use predictive search or other filters to refine the results. An intelligent algorithm keeps tracks of your likes to make the experience more personalized. The increased engagement induces brand loyalty and greatly effects user retention. She can then confidently purchase the right product and create an expression and share it with her friends’, all within the app.
They think this is just the beginning of this e-commerce enabler space and slowly fashion ecommerce will have to grow from treating it as a commodity industry. With players such as Roposo, Voonik and Wooplr receiving the kind of financial support they have in the recent months it validates the market potential and they think this is just the beginning of the ecommerce enabler space in India. There is a lot that can and has to be done and they have a great product to be at its forefront in the future.
