Review: Micromax A116 Canvas HD

Owning a Micromax A116 Canvas HD is like owning BMW at the price of Maruti 800!!!!!

This phone is packed with all the features one could hope for in a smartphone and is priced at RS 13,999 only. With this price it has already become a hard thing to find. According to news it’s selling 25 units per minute and had sold around 9,000 units on the first day itself. As of now you can get hold of it from and is expected to be available on retail outlets from March. I was lucky to get hold of one.

Canvas HD

Unboxing the Micromax Canvas HD, one gets a glimpse of the amazing phone on the top and then we have a USB cable, USB charger and headphone beneath it.

It has amazing features. It is a light weight phone with good performance as well as a smooth touch screen as it is equipped with latest Android OS (v4.1.2 Jelly Bean), quad-core processor and a HD IPS screen. It has a decent build and finish but the only disappointing thing was the quality of the headset. But I think at the given prise it’s a small trade-off.

The HD IPS screen has 1280×720 resolution and a colour depth of 16.7 million which gives a crystal clear display. It is packed with both front as well as rear camera. Front camera has a decent 3 megapixel and rear is 8 megapixel with good photo as well as video quality.

In all I would say it’s a good catch and a must buy……
