RepStartups connects startups with Campus Reps and Interns
RepStartups is a recruiting app connecting startups to college students as campus reps & interns. In place of generic job ads, startups combine content from their website & social media to showcase products, culture, team and mission. Instead of intimidating resumes, student profiles contain visuals and short interview-like questions conveying skills, personality and drive. Their goal is to make it easier for students to gain real-world experience during college and less hands on for new startups to reach campuses.
The startup was founded in March 2015, with both co-founders(Ashley & Lydia) being full time by June 2015.One used to lead mobile product at a Fortune 500 company and the other used to lead the recruiting efforts at a financial services firm (both the internship & full-time program). Both have been friends for a few years and somehow only recently found out they share a hidden addiction to reading science blogs. Their platform is unique because they’re the only mobile recruiting platform specifically catering to startups and millennial college students by replacing generic job ads and resumes with profiles based on visual social media elements and interesting interview-like questions.Their platform going beyond startups and college students and being used by larger corporate clients to screen full-time candidates for personality and culture fit. They also envision their mobile app integrating with other systems used to recruit candidates.
Currently the app is free for both startups and college students as they pilot the program. They intend to eventually charge companies a subscription fee that will be tiered based on the number of candidates they wish to recruit. The base fee will be competitive with a 30-day job ad. They’ve had very positive feedback from both startups, college students, university career centers and mentors who help students with their careers.
