Flatpebble, Marketplace for Photographers secures $600K funding from IAN
Flatpebble, the online marketplace for photographers and stylists secures $600K funding from Indian Angel Network(IAN). This round of investment was led by Sanjay Jesrani and Subram Kapoor on behalf of IAN.
In a statement to ET, CEO and Co-founder of Flatpebble, Venkateshan Seshadri said

Our solution is focused on helping service providers succeed, while ensuring choice and price transparency for consumers”
The funding will be used to innovate product, increase supply depth as well as expand into other categories. Flatpebble boasts of 2500 registered photographers and other service providers covering around 14-15 cities.
In addition, the startup aims to expand overseas to countries like Malaysia and Singapore with large Indian population.
“Initially our thought process was to take the platform to countries like Malaysia and Singapore that has a big Indian community. But we are seeing considerable interest from photographers from outside India who want to cover Indian weddings,” says Seshadri.
The Hyderabad based startup was founded in 2013 and aims to make hiring the best photographer very simple by allowing you to post a job for free and receive visual portfolios and detailed quotes from interested photographers.Flatpebble also acts as an escrow protecting both parties with advance payments till the start of the event.
