One way or the other, we have always been in a situation where we know how much we’re gonna shell out for our new gadget but are unaware of the options available in that budget. There was a time when Hitesh and Abhinav faced the same problem. The result, Smartprix.com, A unique price comparison engine where you just key in your budget and the website shows the best options available to you.
Abhinav Choudhary and Hitesh Khandelwal are two batch-mates turned friends who met at IIT Delhi. They Co-founded
Smartprix on 1st Dec 2011 with only mobile phones category. What started as an experiment turned into a full time price comparison website with more and more categories being added constantly. Today, this service has been extended to include tablets, books, laptops and cameras.
The website layout is simple yet catchy. You will see a ‘Find’ button as soon as you land on the website, just adjust your budget slider and check out a whole new range of mobile phones available to you. In addition, theres an interesting ‘Fight’ button, which is nothing but a compare feature where you can compare upto 4 devices simultaneously. This not only saves time but also helps in making a better buying decision.
Smartprix does provide a very unique user experience. It represents all the technical information in a way that even a layman can understand the pros & cons of any product. All the products listed on the site have detailed analysis and comparison with respect to other products.
With E-Commerce increasing rapidly in India, comparison shopping has also started showing an upward trend, giving price comparison a niche market to be in. When asked about their vision and long term plans, Abhinav answered, saying
“Our goal is to become the starting point for online shopping and we will continue working towards that goal”
Abhinav further added, “It’s really hard to say where we will reach after 2 years, but looking at our current growth we will become the largest comparison shopping site in India.”
