How it all Started
Tinbox was founded in 2014 by 2 students – Adrien Guilmineau & David Linderman at the University of Warwick in the UK.
David experienced the problem of “clicktivism” aka Lack of a platform for modern charitable engagement, during a fundraising campaign he ran when he climbed to 2/3s of the Mount Everest route for a children’s medical research charity. Friends wanted to help his campaign, but the way they were doing so in our social media age was by liking, tweeting and sharing – methods which raised awareness, but not funds.
During an incubator session the pair started at Warwick University they found the issue to be much larger than David’s campaign and it was then they decided to commit to finding a solution.
The Way Forward
Inbox has already raised a total of $400k. It is backed by Love money, Business Angels, MicroVC & Accelerator Program. As per the company’s statistics, they have already reached 500,000+ people when their Beta launched. It is currently only available in the US, and will be launched for rest of the world in future
We see Tinbox as being able to tackle the worlds biggest issue with a simple tap by partnering with non-profits, people and sponsors all around the globe, quoted the Tinbox Founders
Tinbox charges a fee on top of the donation to the sponsor for the reach and engagement they get. 100% goes to the charity.
