Create, Interact and Share your Events on one platform using yada app
The widespread use of smartphones means that every year millions if not billions of photos and videos are taken to document events, but there is no manner in which to directly share this content with other guests in the vicinity. Up until now, there has been no platform that allows event attendees to connect with each other, interact in real-time, or collaborate in the sharing of content. As a result, many events are lacking an enduring sense of ‘togetherness’. yada solves this problem by fortifying a sense of community at events. Event attendees can benefit from a deepened sense of community and a higher feeling of interaction and immersion, whilst event organisers can benefit from a better understanding of their attendee demographics and the option to curate collected content for future marketing purposes.
Founded in June 2015, in UK, yada is a simple, real-time event management platform, which allows users to create events – whether public, private or moderated – and fully personalise them. With yada, users can connect with other guests at a venue via the app or by scanning a QR-code, and share photos, videos and comments in real-time. It also allows for this content to be combined with the ‘LiveView’ feature to form a projectable, 360-degree view of the event.
The Inception Story
In 2013, Martin Roots founded Expede IT Solutions Ltd, a company who provide consultancy services to the Higher Education sector. The idea for the app came to Martin whilst attending a family wedding. He created yada as a way to way to improve attendee experience and capitalise on the prevalent use of smartphone cameras. Expede created, owns and now operates yada. They do this in conjunction with ‘team yada’ – a small group of young graduates who add a fresh, innovative twist to the app. The combination of the wise old owls and the young grad means there is always a stream of ideas!
Why yada
Other events apps focus on one event in particular or are a use-once opportunity. yada combines the functionality of all of these apps into one. Only a small percentage of apps provide organisers with the ability to interact with their guests through direct messaging or curated content
In addition, yada focuses on fully enhancing attendee experience as well as facilitating events for the organiser with an sleek design and value for money
Next Steps
At the moment yada is free but the company is working on monetising the platform. In future the app plans to have In-app purchases, Subscription services and even a one-off purchase of a large or public event.
The app is currently looking for more seed funding and have recently launched a crowdfunding site here: https://crowdforangels.com/company/Expede-IT-Solutions-Limited-74 . Additionally the yada team plans to pitch their idea this month at Collision Conference, New Orleans (part of Web Summit) for further investment.
The yada roadmap will take it through various stages of development, by which more features will be added to make it suitable for different uses on the events spectrum.
“We hope that yada will go beyond a simple ‘party or social app’ and will fully be suitable for use at business events, universities or even arenas”, said the yada founder, Martin Roots.
He further added, “We see yada being used at large gigs or festivals where attendees can share content and participate in the ‘LiveView’ walls around the venue”
This affordable events app can be used for every aspect of life’s events. It brings guests together in an interactive, immersive atmosphere in a way that no other app on the market currently does. So if you have an event and want attendees to collaborate, yada is your answer
