Startup BarMonkey helps you set up your own bar at home
Barmonkey is a niche online store that retails a dedicated range of bar furniture, collectibles and quirky bar accessories for homes. A treat for bar enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike,it is a one stop shop for everything you need to set up your very own bar at home, right from wine racks to bar stools to glasses to cocktail shakers. With the cocktail hour gradually shifting to private spaces, one can shop for their favorite party-starters at the convenience of a click. The furniture at Barmonkey is inspired by the craftsmanship of antique pieces and is handmade with meticulous attention to detail. We use premium quality reclaimed teak wood to create beautiful pieces of furniture. It makes it a point to make bar furniture that is distinctive from the mass-market products found at most stores.
In addition to the essential barware like shakers, openers and pourers, it also helps you out with fun, unconventional gifts for friends and family, such as the beer pong kit, which is a complete solution for a game of beer pong with the glasses, balls, mats and instructions. All you need is a table to get started! If you’re having a party, you should definitely check out the snakes and ladders and tic tac toe drinking games, which add a drunken twist to the childhood games with shot glasses for every wrong move. There are also plenty of gifting options to choose from between wine boxes, coasters, hip flask sets, themed bottle openers and more.
Barmonkey was founded in June 2013 by Raghav Kohli. As consumers, we’re always looking for innovative products and better service. He launched Barmonkey because he knew there was a market for it. The point is to set up something good and then make sure everyone knows about it. Raghav has a Master’s degree in Economics & when he finished his degree in 2012 he began working on Bamonkey. He is supported by three full time employees and from time to time he takes help from freelancers.
They are significantly expanding their product portfolio. Starting August, they will not only be adding a variety of products to the existing categories, but will also be adding new categories of products such as vintage collectibles and themed bars. Hopefully, they are aiming to be one of the largest stores for bar products and furniture in the next couple of years with a presence across the country. They follow an inventory-owned business model and all the furniture is manufactured in-house. In addition to their own website, they are looking to partner with established online marketplaces to drive up sales.
Geekopedia wishes BarMonkey best of luck for future endeavors
